Diplomats Pledge Assistance for Development in Sri Lanka's North

Top diplomats based in Colombo pledged their fullest assistance for rehabilitation projects in war-ravaged northern Jaffna peninsula while on a field inspection tour there Thursday, the official Daily News said on Friday.

Top diplomats based in Colombo pledged their fullest assistance for rehabilitation projects in war-ravaged northern Jaffna peninsula while on a field inspection tour there Thursday, the official Daily News said on Friday.

The tour, organized by Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry and led by Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando, was participated by 39 delegates from 34 diplomatic missions and foreign Non-Government Organizations in Colombo. The government was trying to seek support of the diplomats for the development in the area.

The diplomats visited a harbor, Jaffna Public Library, Jaffna Teaching Hospital and Point Pedro Jetty during the tour.
