China hands over state-of-art hospital to Ethiopia (2)

He also stated that the Hospital is favorable and strategic, and also accessible to urban residents as well as to the peri- urban communities in the locality and rural residents of Oromia regional state.

Fully equipped with modern and high-tech medical equipment, and complete with 100 beds, the Hospital will start operations with a dedicated team of 15 Chinese medical professionals who will work alongside Ethiopian professionals, said the state minister.

"The hospital is named by the long-distance running champion, Tirunesh, and the capital city of China, Beijing. This name well reflects the deep friendship between the Governments and People of China and Ethiopia. Today, it is my pleasure to be on behalf of the Chinese Government to officially hand over the hospital to the Ethiopian Government," said Jiang Yaoping.

"I hope the Tirunesh-Beijng Hospital would improve the medical conditions and facilitate the well-fare for the local people as well as contribute to increase the level of Ethiopian health care, " he added.

According to Li Zonggen, deputy manager of China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation, the completion of this full functional hospital shall bring great convenience to the local people. They shall get a better access to high quality medical care.

Meanwhile, with the help of the Chinese medical team, the Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital will play a significant role in public health care career, he added.
