The Meli Snow Mountain National Park was set up in July, 2009 and it was opened to public in October. It was the wholly-owned subsidiary under Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Tourism Development Investment Co, Ltd.

It is called one of the "ten most beautiful famous mountains" and Lantsang Meili Valley is one of "the most beautiful valleys in China". Also the Zhuanjing Route of Meili Snowy Mountain (Zhuangjing is a religious activity of Tibet. People walk around a route and pray) is called one of the "the 50 global best ecological lines." The natural scenery of Meili Snowy Mountain is colorful and magnificent and the mountain is a modern ocean valley glacier.

Meili Snow Mountain has long been famous for its main peak, Kang Karpo Peak, the highest peak in Yunnan. Surrounded by 13 lesser peaks, Kang Karpo Peak is extolled as the "most beautiful mountain in the world." Also known as "Prince Snow Mountain", it is the world's most sacred Tibetan mountain. The Meili Snow Mountain is famous worldwide for its loftiness, majesty, and an atmosphere of mystery

Trekking between mountains of the Meili is a pure joy. The mountains possess some of the region's highest diversity plants.
