2001 Top 10 Cases for Regulating Market Economic Order
The State Market Leading Group Office recently made public top 10 cases for regulating and straightening out market order in 2001 including some nationwide astonishing cases such as Yuanhua Smuggling. More than a half of these are dealing with food, clothes, houses, daily commodities and security of the common people which clearly reflected the concerns of the government for the people's livelihood.

More than a half of these are dealing with food, clothes, houses, daily commodities and security of the common people which clearly reflected the concerns of the government for the people's livelihood.
Struggles Fruitful in Straightening Market Order
Since last year a series of struggles were launched by departments concerned in various regions in regulating and straightening out market order. Progressive achievements have been made in many aspects to that end.
The State Market Leading Group Office recently made public top 10 cases for regulating and straightening out market order in 2001 through "Order �� Lifeline", a special TV program of CCTV "Focus". The top 10 cases include some nationwide astonishing cases such as Black-heart Cotton, Yuanhua Smuggling (Xiamen) and Nandan Mine Flooding Accident.
More than a half of these are dealing with food, clothes, houses, daily commodities and security of the common people which clearly reflected the concerns of the government for the people's livelihood.
All the 10 cases enumerated are typical cases uncovered by related departments in the course of regulating and straightening out market order last year. With a wide range of enterprises and persons and a large amount of money involved, these had wrought serious impact and great harm to the society.
China will continue its efforts to rectify and regulate the market and economic order this year, targeting at fake and substandard goods and their producers, smuggling, tax evasion and other economic crimes, said Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing on January 24.
Achievements in 2001
It is learned that last year China shut down half a million workshops producing fake products. The law enforcement departments handled 1.2 million cases of fake products, involving two billion U.S. dollars-worth of goods. They also confiscated 158 million illegal publications and 4.2 million copies of pirated software.
