China to Hold Symposium on Listing of SMEs

The China Symposium on the Listing and Financing of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will be held on April 27 and 28 in Beijing, according to the China Society for Research on Economic System Reform (CSRESR).

It will be the first symposium of its kind to be held since China's official accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) and will bring together government officials, investors and SMEs, the CSRESR, organizer of the event, said.

Officials from the State Economic and Trade Commission, the State Development Planning Commission, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the People's Bank of China and representatives from the second boards of overseas bourses will be invited to join the discussion on financial assistance for SMEs which is considered important to the steady growth of China's economy.

The meeting will focus on multiple finance channels, overseas listings, the legal environment, the establishment of a credit system and venture investment for SMEs.
