Chinese President Leaves Tunisia for Iran

Chinese President Jiang Zemin left Tunis Thursday for Shiraz, Iran, the last leg of his five-nation trip. During his state visit to Tunisia, which started Tuesday, Jiang had talks with his Tunisian counterpart Zine Al-Abidine Ben Ali on bilateral cooperation and regional and world issues as well.

Chinese President Jiang Zemin left Tunis Thursday for Shiraz, Iran, the last leg of his five-nation trip.

During his state visit to Tunisia, which started Tuesday, Jiang had talks with his Tunisian counterpart Zine Al-Abidine Ben Ali on bilateral cooperation and regional and world issues as well.

Jiang also met Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, and National Assembly President fouad Mebazaa. They discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two countries.

Before his trip to Tunisia, Jiang already visited Germany, Libya, Nigeria.
