Chinese President Concludes State Visit to Iran for Home
Chinese President Jiang Zemin concluded his state visit to Iran and left Tehran for home on Monday morning. During his stay in the Islamic Republic, Jiang has met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah
Chinese President Jiang Zemin concluded his state visit to Iran and left Tehran for home on Monday morning.
The Chinese president was seen off at the airport by Iranian officials concerned and Chinese Ambassador to Iran Sun Bigan.
During his stay in the Islamic Republic, Jiang has met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Husseini Khamenei, Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Majlis (parliament) Speaker Mehdi Karrubi.
The Chinese president also met and held talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Khatami on enhancing bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
Iran was the last leg of President Jiang's five-nation tour, which has also taken him to Germany, Libya, Nigeria and Tunisia.
