One of Queen Elizabeth II's subjects greeted her in the nude Tuesday, streaking past the royal car during the monarch's Golden Jubilee tour.
The young man bared all to the queen and her husband, Prince Philip, as they drove through the northern England town of Newcastle in their Rolls Royce.
The streaker appeared to pose for photographers before he was pounced on by at least four police officers who forced him to lie face down on the ground before covering him in coats.
Northumbria police later said the 27-year-old streaker, whom they identified as area resident Brynn Richard Reed, was charged with outraging public decency.
The queen, who is on a 15-week Golden Jubilee tour of Britain to mark her 50 years on the throne, was on her way to unveil a statue of the late Cardinal Basil Hume, a native of Newcastle.
