Chinese Military Delegation Arrives in Zambia for Visit

A Chinese military delegation led by Du Tiehuan, political commissar of the Beijing Military Area of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, arrived in Lusaka Saturday afternoon to begin their four-day good-will visit to Zambia.

A Chinese military delegation led by Du Tiehuan, political commissar of the Beijing Military Area of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, arrived in Lusaka Saturday afternoon to begin their four-day good-will visit to Zambia.

The visitors were met at the airport by Joel Chitafu, permanent secretary of the Zambian Defense Ministry, Lin Songtian, Charge D' affaires of the Chinese embassy, and military attach Liu Shengli.

General Du and the delegation are expected to have discussions with Zambian military leaders on furthering military exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. They will also tour some military establishments in this African country.

Earlier, the delegation have visited the Sudan and Djibouti.
