Chinese HP Market Sees a Dramatic Rise

China Telecom has generated 124.57 billion yuan of revenue in the first four months of this year, with China Mobile's taking 46.6 percent of the total. Meanwhile, the Chinese HP market, pushed by an increased number of Mobile users, has assumed a new pattern.

China Telecom has generated 124.57 billion yuan of revenue in the first four months of this year, with China Mobile's taking 46.6 percent of the total. Meanwhile, the Chinese HP market, pushed by an increased number of Mobile users, has assumed a new pattern. The market quota of domestic HPs has been enlarged and TCL ranked top three.

China Mobile's users have hit 160 million by the end of this April and maintained a monthly growth of 5.5 million, its universalized rate reaching 13.14 percent.

According to the data provided by Sai Di Consulting Firm, China Mobile sold nearly 16 million phones during the said four months. Moreover, the quota of HP renewal is rising, hitting 23.4 percent, regarded as a motive for the further development of the Chinese HP market.

New pattern of Chinese HP market
The HP market sees a new pattern. Currently Motorola, Nokia and TCL have ranked the top three, among which TCL, a representative of domestic brands, has made remarkable achievements in manufacturing and selling on the strength of its advanced technology, high quality and flexible price. TCL played a key role in taking Chinese HP market into the new pattern claiming a sale amount of 1.6 million HP.

The total market quota of foreign HP is decreasing although they still dominate a large part of the market. Motorola, a leading HP manufacturer in China, has developed a lot of new products to deal with the changing market.

However, Nokia doesn't do it as well as Motorola in handling the market rapidly, still remaining the strategy of single product. Their market quota has cut down from 23 percent last year to 18 percent this year.

Experts note domestic HP manufacturers don't match foreign ones in strength. They have to make more efforts to develop despite TCL has entered the top three.
