German Warships Visit Qingdao

Two German frigates arrived in the port city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province on Monday for a seven-day friendly visit. This was the first visit by German warships to China.

Two German frigates arrived in the port city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province on Monday for a seven-day friendly visit.

This was the first visit by German warships to China.

China's North China Sea Fleet and the Qingdao municipal government held a welcoming ceremony for the German sailors.

The two German frigates are the 5,785-ton Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the 3,787-ton Rheinland-Pfalz. They carry a total crew of 431, including 52 officers.
