A five-member delegation led by Procurator-General Ho Chio Meng of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) left Macao Sunday to kick off a visit to Portugal.

The visit is expected to maintain and promote cooperation between procuratorial organs of the two places since Macao and Portugal are deeply rooted in judicial similarities, the authorities said.

In the meantime, the Portuguese can take the chance to know more about the principles of "one country, two systems", Macao people governing Macao and judicial independence in the SAR.

This was the first visit by a Macao procurator delegation to the country since Macao returned to the motherland at the end of 1999.
