Japanese prosecutors arrested lawmaker Muneo Suzuki on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of receiving a bribe four years ago.

Japanese prosecutors arrested lawmaker Muneo Suzuki on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of receiving a bribe four years ago.

Japan's lower house steering committee held a plenary session at 1 p.m. (local time) Wednesday and made the final decision to permit the prosecutors to arrest Suzuki on a charge of taking a five million yen bribe from a Hokkaido lumber company in 1998.
