2 Palestinians, 4 Israelis Killed in Palestinian Attack Near Nablus

Four Israelis and two Palestinian militants were killed Thursday night in a Palestinian infiltration attack on a Jewish settlement south of the West Bank town of Nablus, Israeli security sources told Xinhua.

Four Israelis and two Palestinian militants were killed Thursday night in a Palestinian infiltration attack on a Jewish settlement south of the West Bank town of Nablus, Israeli security sources told Xinhua.

The sources said that two Palestinian militants who infiltrated into the Jewish settlement of Itamar opened fire at the Jewish settlers' houses in the settlement, killing four settlers and wounding at least four others.

The sources said that one of the militants took refuge in one ofthe empty houses, continued exchange of fire until he ran out of ammunition. Then a special Israeli security force broke into the house and killed the militant.

The sources added that dozens of Israeli soldiers searched for the second militant until they found him hiding in another house, adding that the soldiers shot and killed the other militant two hours after the attack started.

The pro-Hezbollah Al Manar Television station in Lebanon reported that a group called itself the Brigades of Abu Ali Mustafa, an armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) is responsible for the attack on Itamar.
