Mahathir Withdraws Resignation Decision
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has agreed to remain as Ruling UMNO president and withdraw his resignation from his party posts.

n Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has agreed to remain as Ruling UMNO president and withdraw his resignation from his party posts.
Deputy president of the ruling United Malays National Organization (UMN) Abdullah Ahmad Badawi made the announcement at the 56th UMNO General Assembly Saturday.
Earlier, Abdullah announced that the UMNO Supreme Council unanimously rejected Mahathir Mohamod's decision to resign.
Immediately after the announcement of the decision by Mahathir, Abdullah urgently called on the delegates at the 56th UMNO General Assembly to unanimously reject Mahathir's decision to resign from his post.
Mahathir made a surprise announcement to resign from the party president during his winding-up speech at the 56th UMNO General Assembly here Saturday.
Shocked members of the UMNO Supreme Council and all those present had tried to persuade him to withdraw his decision.
