Iranian Opposition Leader Murdered in Pakistan: AIP

An Iranian opposition leader named Noor Mohammed was murdered by unidentified gunmen on Friday in Quetta, capital of Pakistan's Balochistan Province, according to the Peshawar-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

An Iranian opposition leader named Noor Mohammed was murdered by unidentified gunmen on Friday in Quetta, capital of Pakistan's Balochistan Province, according to the Peshawar-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

Well-informed sources told the private news agency that six gunmen broke into Noor Mohammed's house in the afternoon and shot him dead.

The opposition leader belongs to Iran's Baloch tribe. He was suspected to be involved in a big drug smuggling mafia in Pakistan and the neighboring Afghanistan.

According to the AIP, Noor Mohammed came to Quetta from southern Afghan city of Kandahar several weeks before his murder.
