Dyna Scan, a 1.9-meter-tall cylindrical LED (light emitting diode) display, was erected in the Capital International Airport on Wednesday, signaling its debut on the Chinese market.

The latest in LED displays, recently granted patents in the United States, Japan and China, will soon appear in airports of other major Chinese cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xi'an.

The surface of the cylindrical structure with a diameter of 2.2meters holds a series of vertical bars, each of which contains several LEDs of a specific color (red, green, and blue). Under theoperation of the controlling software, the LEDs spin to create true color images.

The display produces full color images in a 360-degree panorama, which enables thousands of people to watch simultaneously.
