Chinese, Benin Defense Ministers Hold Talks

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian held talks Wednesday with his counterpart from Benin,Pierre Osho.

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian held talks Wednesday with his counterpart from Benin,Pierre Osho.

Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, said that China and Benin had a long-standing friendship, and the two countries had supported each other and cooperated fruitfully in many fields.

He expressed gratitude for Benin's adherence to the one-China stance and its support in international affairs.

Chi said that China valued the friendly relations with Benin's armed forces, and was ready to make joint efforts to further the relations between the two countries and their armed forces.

Osho said that Benin was China's reliable friend, and the leaders of the two countries and militaries had exchanged visits frequently.

He said that the two sides had conducted fruitful cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields. Benin thanked China for its long-term assistance, and hoped to further the relations between the two countries and armed forces.
