Switzerland has resumed imports of poultry products from China as of Tuesday, according to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine.

Switzerland suspended imports from China on February 8 this year, and the ban was partially lifted on April 3 and canceled completely on July 2.

The ban was imposed after Swiss authorities claimed Chinese poultry products exceeded approved levels of antibiotics.

Switzerland carried out tests on 292 samples of imported poultry from 13 countries, including 132 samples from China. The results showed that 96.2 percent of the samples met Swiss import standards.

Negotiations have been underway, with Chinese departments arguing a total ban on Chinese poultry products was unreasonable.

Chinese quarantine authorities pledged to maintain strict inspections on the quality of poultry to be exported.
