Chinese Shooters Win Five Golds in World Championships

Chinese won five gold medals and shattered as many world records on the fifth day of the world shooting championships in Lahti on Saturday.

Chinese won five gold medals and shattered as many world records on the fifth day of the world shooting championships in Lahti on Saturday.

Xu Xuan scored a new world record of 391 points to take the women's 10m running target title, beating the previous mark of 383 set by Galina Avramenko of Ukraine.

Xu's teammate Wang Xia got the silver in 381 points.

The Chinese snatched the team top honor with a world record total of 1,150 points, shattering the listed standard of 1,124 points set by Ukraine.

In the female women's trap event, Chinese Sun Dongni lifted a gold medal with 67 hits, one better than the previous world record.Sun also led the Chinese team to take the team title with a total of 202 hits.

China also got the junior men's 10m air rifle team event with 1,771 points, beating the previous world record of 1,765 points.
