Chinese Win Three More Golds in World Shooting Championships

Chinese sharpshooters raised their gold medal tally to 15 after they added three titles on the eighth day of the world shooting championships in Lahti on Tuesday.

Chinese sharpshooters raised their gold medal tally to 15 after they added three titles on the eighth day of the world shooting championships in Lahti on Tuesday.

China won the team top honor at the women's 10m running target mixed event by totaling a new world record of 1,149 points. The previous mark was 1,114.

Andrey Soquet of France took the individual title with 390 points, beating Chinese Qiu Zhiqi (385) and Wang Xia (383) into second and third place respectively.

Chinese Li Jie had to settle for the men's 10m air rifle silvermedal when he lost to American Jason Paker in the shoot-out after both had scored the same 699.9 points after the final.

Earlier Li led China to the men's 10 air rifle team gold with 1,784 points.

In the men's 50m pistol event, Chinese Tan Zongliang scored 662.7 points for the gold.

Russia now topped the gold medal tally with 16 with China in second place with 15 gold, 16 silver and nine bronze medals.
