A Thai delegation will start a visit to China on Sunday to expand the export of Thai agricultural products to China's market, Deputy Commerce Minister Suvarn Valaisathien said Wednesday.

Suvarn said the delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, will visit Beijing and Shanghai and hold talks with Chinese officials on wider access to Chinese markets, the Thai News Agency reported.

The main targeted products are rubber, sugar, rice, and cassava,Suvarn added.

Tourism would be another major topic that the Thai finance minister would discuss with the Chinese side.

China's economy has grown at a rate of 7 to 8 percent for many consecutive years, which is the highest compared with other Asian countries, he said.

These factors make China a lucrative market for Thai exports, he said.
