A visiting former senior vice president of the Bank of America has expressed interest to invest in Zimbabwe's health care sector, local newspaper Herald reported Friday.

Douglas Williamson said that he had met with some local doctors to discuss setting up a company that would supply radiological equipment to hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies, said the report.

"This is one area I have thought of exploring," he said.

"We talked about the possibilities of forming a joint venture project with a group of doctors," he said.

Williamson, who arrived in Zimbabwe early this week, also held talks Thursday with Environment and Tourism Minister Francis Nhemato explore opportunities and challenges in the tourism sector.
