Beijing Court Standardizes Evidence Procedures

The Beijing No.2 Intermediate Court Thursday released a new regulation listing specific criteriafor allowing evidence and operational procedures in a lawsuit.

The Beijing No.2 Intermediate Court Thursday released a new regulation listing specific criteriafor allowing evidence and operational procedures in a lawsuit.

The new criteria, the first of its kind in Beijing, outline howjudges can admit evidence and guide litigants in how to fulfill their burden of proof, with the aim of realizing justice and efficiency in the judicial system, said Wu Shuchen, vice-president of the court.

The court has published brochures on the criteria for litigants. People may also read the content of the new regulation on the electronic screen in the court.
