PRINT DISCUSSION CHINESE SEND TO FRIEND

The Jakarta prosecutors demanded in Jakarta Monday a sentence of 15 years in jail for Tommy Soeharto, the youngest son of ex-president Soeharto, who is charged of masterminding the murder of a Supreme Court judge last year, of illegal firearm possession and of fleeing from a graft conviction.

The indictment, read in turn by four prosecutors led by Hasan Madani during a court hearing, announced that the defendant was convincingly proven to have committed to the premeditated murder, illegal arm possession and escape from a court verdict.

The incriminating factors were that the defendant had denied all charges, being uncooperative with the court and the crime had disrupted public peacefulness.

Presiding Judge Amiruddin Zakaria will bring down his verdict after hearing defense statement from Tommy's lawyer team next week.
