Taiwan exporters of computer software products which are quoted in the US dollar expect huge book losses due to the continuous decline of the greenback in the past weeks, according to news from Taiwan Tuesday.

A spokesman for Trend Micro Corp., manufacturer of PC Cillin and other virus control systems, said the company may register a 9million US dollar book loss for the first half of this year because all the company's products and services are quoted in the US dollars.

He also said the continuous dwindling of the US dollar will putincreasing pressure on the software manufacturer, which relies heavily on the US market.

Exporters who have diversified their overseas markets expect tomake up the difference with their gains from the markets in Japan and Europe, while the US dollar has plunged to an eight-month low against the euro and is below parity with the European currency.
