World's Largest Goose Project Launched in NE. China

The building of a large goose-processing base, the biggest of its kind in the world, has begun in northeast China's Jilin Province.

The building of a large goose-processing base, the biggest of its kind in the world, has begun in northeast China's Jilin Province.

The project, located in Changchun City, the provincial capital,is designed to process 1,000 tons of goose liver and 10 million geese as well as other sideline products every year.

With an investment of 440 million yuan by the Jifa Business Group, it is a key agricultural project at central and local levels for 2002, according to sources.

The project is expected to generate 160 million US dollars in export sales annually.

The Jifa Business Group has brought in 3,000 parent geese from France.

Over 250,000 rural families will join the project raising geese,planting grass and growing corn.
