Saudi Prince and Publisher Dead at 44

Prince Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, a nephew of King Fahd who led a Saudi publishing empire and owned Kentucky Derby winner War Emblem, died Monday of a heart attack at a hospital in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. He was 44.

Prince Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, a nephew of King Fahd who led a Saudi publishing empire and owned Kentucky Derby winner War Emblem, died Monday of a heart attack at a hospital in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. He was 44.

Prince Ahmed was chairman and majority owner of the Jiddah-based Arab News company. He also was publisher of the equestrian magazine Fursiah.

Last year, Prince Ahmed's elder brother, Prince Fahd, died of a heart attack.

Ahmed is survived by a wife and five children, the youngest of whom is 1.
