Trans-bank Deals Charge Service Fees

With announcements of collecting service fees by the City Bank and the HSBC, the issue whether domestic banks would do the same concerns the society. When interviewed by reporters, personnel concerned noted the Bank of China's policy on collecting service fees involving 40 items will soon make debut in China.

With announcements of collecting service fees by the City Bank and the HSBC, the issue whether domestic banks would do the same concerns the society. When interviewed by reporters, personnel concerned noted the Bank of China's policy on collecting service fees involving 40 items will soon make debut in China.

The Beijing branch of the Construction Bank of China is going to charge service fees of 2 yuan on customers holding dragon cards who want to draw money on trans-bank ATM.

The bank explains according to new rules of the People's Bank of China, banks which open accounts are supposed to pay 4 yuan, 2 yuan increased, to those which handle the business as service fees for every deal on trans-bank ATM. The bank decides to share the fees with customers due to the heavy burden of shouldering the fees one side.

Sources reveal that currently all banks have charged service fees. Owing to the trans-bank service fees having increased from 2 to 4 yuan, the banks have to let customers cover the additional fees to make ends meet. Following the international practice, no fees will be charged for deals on POS.
