Iranian government spokesman Abdullah Ramezanzadeh rejected on Wednesday the Iraqi government assertions on arresting and execution of two individuals allegedly spying for Iran.

Addressing a press conference, Ramezanzadeh said such statementsare repeated every once in a while on the Iraqi television against Iran and "we do not know as to the logic and reasoning behind them."

He stressed that Iran does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of any country.

Iranian policy calls for closer relations with all of its neighbors and the establishment of regional unions with the aim of bolstering the interests of the people, the spokesman said.

On the possible US military attack on Iraq, Ramezanzadeh said Iran is "against using military means in international relations."

Iran believes in self-determination of the political system of nations and "no foreign power should interfere in this process," hesaid.

Speculating on the possible scenario of US attack on Iran after Iraq, Ramezanzadeh warned that "US officials are wiser than to think about attacking Iran."

However, in case of any aggression, "Iran sees as its natural, justified and legal rights within the international law to stand against it and strongly resist any aggression."

Iran supports the proposal for a world coalition for peace and does not seek to pick a fight with any country, the spokesman added.
