30 children from Shanghai, China will pay a nine-day visit to Japan from July 28 at the invitation of Japanese Kyocera Corporation which has held such activity for Chinese children since 1997 as a kind of social contribution, according to the report of asianet.com Friday.

The objective of these tours is to provide children with the opportunity to grow up and be able to make judgments from a global point of view and with a broader perspective while experiencing another culture at an impressionable age.

This event has its roots in an experience of Kyocera's Honorary President, Kazuo Inamori, early in his career. Shortly after Kyocera was founded, Inamori visited the United States on a business trip. This was his first trip overseas, and Mr. Inamori was very impressed by a strong feeling of experiencing a different culture. Growing from this experience, Kyocera has started to organize tours for children from overseas to visit Japan every year since 1976.
