Tropical storm Fengshen may attack east China Saturday

Tropical windstorm Fengshen, the ninth of the year, arrived in the sea area south of Cheju, the Republic of Korea, at 32.6 degree N. and 126.4. E, Friday afternoon, according to the Central Meteorological Station.

Tropical windstorm Fengshen, the ninth of the year, arrived in the sea area south of Cheju, the Republic of Korea, at 32.6 degree N. and 126.4. E, Friday afternoon, according to the Central Meteorological Station.

It was a whole gale when it was detected Friday afternoon, but it is expected to weaken while moving at 20 km per hour northwestward.

On Saturday afternoon or evening, the windstorm may arrive in between eastern coastal cities of Jiaonan and Rongcheng, Shandong Province, east China.

The Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea, eastern part of Shandong, and the southern coastal area of Liaoning Province, northeast China, are expected to experience a storm ranging from strong breeze to freshgale. The sea areas passed by the center of the storm may experience a windforce between strong gale and whole gale.

There will be heavy rains in the southern and eastern parts of Shandong, and southern part of Liaoning, while some areas may witness rainstorms.
