Jiang Zemin Hails Re-election of S. African Communist Party leader

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Jiang Zemin on July 27 sent a congratulatory message to Blade Nzimande, who was re-elected as the general secretary of the SouthAfrican Communist Party (SACP) at the party's 11th Congress.

Jiang's message was conveyed by Bai Keming, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, who attended the congress with a CPC delegation at the invitation of the SACP.

"Delighted upon hearing of your re-election as the general secretary at the 11th Congress of the South African Communist Party, I wish to extend to you sincere congratulations on behalf of the Communist Party of China," Jiang said in his message.

The SACP, as a political party with a glorious tradition of revolutionary struggles, has made outstanding contributions to theabolition of apartheid in South Africa, and is now playing an important role in new South Africa's national democratic advancement and socioeconomic development, the message said.

"I am convinced, Comrade General Secretary, that under your leadership, the SACP will continue to score new achievements on its way forward. Wish you success in fulfilling the lofty missionsentrusted by the 11th Congress of the SACP, " Jiang added in the message.
