US Priests Arrested in Gay Prostitution Ring in Canada

Two Roman Catholic priests from the United States face charges in Montreal, Canada for patronizing a homosexual prostitution ring that offered the services, police sources' report said in Ottawa Sunday.

Two Roman Catholic priests from the United States face charges in Montreal, Canada for patronizing a homosexual prostitution ring that offered the services, police sources' report said in Ottawa Sunday.

Rev. William Giblin, 70, and Rev. Eurgene Heyndricks, 60, who are from New Jersey, United States, were arraigned July 19 and chose trial by judge and jury.

Giblin, who retired last year is charged with procuring a person to have illicit sexual intercourse with another person, which would carry a jail term of up to 10 years if he is found guilty.

Heyndricks is charged with soliciting sexual favors from a minor, and with stopping or attempting to stop a person for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

According to police sources, four gay prostitutes were also arrested by Canadian police, three of whom are minors and have been handed over to youth protection services.
