Twenty-two still missing in Sichuan boat accident

Strong currents are making it tougher for rescuers to find 22 people still missing after Friday's ferry boat accident on the Yangtze River in Hejiang County, Sichuan Province.

Strong currents are making it tougher for rescuers to find 22 people still missing after Friday's ferry boat accident on the Yangtze River in Hejiang County, Sichuan Province.

Because those missing may have been carried downstream by the currents, 42 craft and more than 300 people have been mobilized tosearch for victims along the river, rescuers said Saturday.

So far, three people have been confirmed dead and 15 rescued after the ferry boat with 40 people were on board ran into a bargeand sank at about 12:20 p.m. Friday.

Investigators said that the collision was caused by propeller failure and operational errors of the crew.
