Asia Packaging Center to Be Set up in China

China has been given the seal of approval to set up Asia Packaging Center under the World Packaging Organization and State Trade and Economic Commission. The establishment of the center will help China improve its level in packaging and promote China to be a world packaging power.

The Organization also decided to hold its 2006 International Packaging Conference in China.

China's packaging industry has undergone 20 years of development, it is becoming a new economic point, with an output value exceeding 230 billion yuan.

Development of China's packaging industry has attracted world's attention, some transnational packaging companies are eyeing Chinese market and plan to come to China for investment.

Person in charge of World Packaging Organization said that the packaging center will play a demonstration role for China, Asia and world packaging development.

Focusing on packaging manufacturing, the center will integrate technology, culture, trade, information and service into the industry.

In the meanwhile, it will lead China to be a green packaging country.
