Ministry of Personnel on August 6 announced that an oath-taking system will be established for newly employed civil servants through experiment and exploration.

More than 500 newly recruited civil servants from 43 central government institutions raised their right hands on August 6, making vows to the country and its people.

Taking oath is a necessary and effective way, it can help enhance civil servants' sense of honor, mission and responsibility.

Reports say, early this year the ministry made it clear that newly recruited civil servants must take oath before work, this pledging activity is regarded as part of the training program for assumption of office.

The August 6 oath-taking activity was the first ever organized by the ministry since the implementation of the Provisional Regulations on State Civil Servants issued in 1993, prior to this, swear-in activity had been held for newly employed civil servants in some localities.
