Bush Promises to Consult Friends and Allies on Iraq

US President George W. Bush said Wednesday that he will be patient and consult with US Congress and allies before making a final decision on Iraq.

US President George W. Bush said Wednesday that he will be patient and consult with US Congress and allies before making a final decision on Iraq.

"I promise you that I will be patient and deliberate, that we will continue to consult with Congress, and of course we will consult with our friends and allies," Bush told reporters during atrip to Jackson, Mississippi.

Bush, who has been accusing Iraq of developing weapons of mass destruction, said that the US will discuss these threats in real terms. "I will explore all options and all tools at my disposal," he said.

But the US president noted that "it is important for my fellow citizens to know as we see threats evolving we will deal with them,we must deal with them."

Bush made the remarks amid widespread concerns that the administration may carry out military strikes to overthrow President Saddam Hussein.
