Japan
should honor its commitments, take a proper attitude towards history and reflect on its past aggression.
Chinese Foreign Ministry
Spokesman Kong Quan said this in
Beijing
on Thursday when asked to comment on the visit by five Japanese cabinet members to Yusukuni Shrine.
He warned Japan not to head in the opposite direction.
The issue of paying homage to the shrine was in essence an issue of how Japan viewed and dealt with the history of aggressioncommitted by Japanese militarists in the past, Kong said.
