Twenty-two Killed in Bus Accident in Central Russia

Twenty-two people were killed and 38 injured when their bus upturned and dropped into a ravine in central Russia's republic of Chuvashia Sunday, the Interfax news agency quoted emergency officials as saying.

Twenty-two people were killed and 38 injured when their bus upturned and dropped into a ravine in central Russia's republic of Chuvashia Sunday, the Interfax news agency quoted emergency officials as saying.

A PAZ passenger bus, packed to capacity, drove into a ditch and overturned at about 08:20 (0420GMT) near the village of Yantikovo,85 kilometers from the regional capital of Cheboksary.

The Itar-tass news agency said the exact figure of casualties were being specified. The Interfax news agency reported that 16 ofthe injured were hospitalized.
