Two Chinese pairs reach Asia-Pacific beach volleyball semifinals

Two Chinese women pairs have reached the semifinals of the Asia-Pacific Beach Volley Tournament2002 held Saturday in Bali, a well-known tourist resort in Indonesia, local media reported Sunday in Jakarta.

Two Chinese women pairs have reached the semifinals of the Asia-Pacific Beach Volley Tournament2002 held Saturday in Bali, a well-known tourist resort in Indonesia, local media reported Sunday in Jakarta.

According to the match schedule, Han Bo/Sun Jing of China will meet teammates Ren Zhenping/Lu Wenfeng in the semifinal, while Kamoltip Kulna/Jarunee Sannok of Thailand also have to face compatriots Rattanaporn Arlaisum/Manatsanan Pangka for a berth in the final.

In the men's event, two Indonesian teams made it to the semifinals after beating their opponents in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Agus Salim/Koko Prasetyo defeated Greg Jury/Brendan Turner of Australia 15-21, 21-13, 15-9.

They will face another Indonesian pair Supriada/Ardiansyah who beat a third local duo Markoji/Irilkhun Shofanna in straight sets.

Joining them in the semifinal are Thai Thawip Thongkamnerd/Sataporn Sawangrueang, who are scheduled to take on Kirk Pitman/Michael Hynds of New Zealand.
