Five-vehicle Accident in Northwest China Kills 15
A major road accident in northwestern Gansu Province on Saturday morning has left 15 dead and 52 injured, local police sources say.

A long-distance sleeper bus loaded with 60 passengers was traveling from Zhoukou City, central
Henan
Province to
Xinjiang
when it hit three oncoming trucks in rapid succession in Jingchuan County, Gansu Province.
Nine passengers and the four drivers were killed instantly and the death toll rose to 15 when a huge truck later ploughed into the damaged vehicles killing the driver and a medical rescue worker.
Preliminary investigations show the accident was caused by an overloaded bus with brake failure. Further investigations are underway, according to police sources.
