China's Power Sports Administration (CPSA) said Monday that it will send 107-strong delegation to the 14th Asian Games, slated for September 29-October 14 in South Korean port city of Busan, aiming at more than14 golds.

CPSA is in charge of five sports: weightlifting, judo, wrestling, taekwondo and boxing, which contributed 14 golds for China in the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998.

Song Zhaoyan, the deputy director of the CPSA, said that they planned to send 62 athletes and 19 coaches to compete in the 62 events of the 77-event five sports in Busan.

"China is always powerful in those power sports and in some events such as women's weightlifting, we are definitely of the world level," said Song,

"But this time we are not optimistic at the upcoming games, since we know our rivals are as strong as us.

"The hosts South Korea and Judo's powerhouse Japan pose the biggest threats to China in these fields."

South Korea swept all the golds for taekwondo in the Bangkok Asian Games and Japan won half of the total 16 golds from the 16thWorld Judo championships this year.
