First Chinese Company Opens Office in Kabul

The China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC), which will shoulder up the reconstruction of the irrigation project in Parwan Province, opened its representative office in Kabul on Monday.

The China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC), which will shoulder up the reconstruction of the irrigation project in Parwan Province, opened its representative office in Kabul on Monday.

This is the first Chinese company opening its office in Afghanistan after the 23 years of war.

Sun Yuxi, Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, said the reconstruction of the Parwan project is the first step of the company to take part in the economic reconstruction in the war-torn country, and it is looking forward to more chance to participate in other economic and trade activities.

CNEEC has set up branches in many countries and regions across the world. Within the coming five years, the company will focus on projects supported by International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank and World Bank, as well as China's assistance projects.
