The Chinese government Wednesday handed over a batch of office equipment valued at 1 million yuan (about 121,951 US dollars) to the Cambodian government.

Ning Fukui, Chinese ambassador to Cambodia, and Uch Kim An, secretary of state for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia, Wednesday inked the document on hand-over of the equipment, on behalf of their respective governments.

The equipment, including computers, cameras and video cameras, will be used to help Cambodia host the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit and other ASEAN meetings scheduled for late this year.

Uch Kim An expressed his thanks to China's timely help, saying China is the first country to offer such equipment for the purpose of the ASEAN summit.

"We are sure the equipment will play an important role for us to host the summit successfully," he added.

Citing China is a friendly neighbor of Cambodia, Ning said the holding of the ASEAN meetings in Cambodia marked the recognition of the international community of the achievements gained by the Cambodian government.
