Lebanese President Emile Lahoud saidon Wednesday dialogue can solve all problems in the era and the upcoming Francophone conference is to provide such a chance for thedialogue, the official NNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

Lahoud made the remarks to reporters after a meeting earlier in the day with concerned ministers on preparing the 9th Francophone summit to be held in Beirut on Oct. 18-20 under the title "The Dialogue of Cultures."

Lahoud said the preparation for the summit is all finished and the preparative committee of the conference and Lebanese diplomats are contacting with member states of the summit on the level and the size of the coming delegations.

"There will be no problem on the logistic and security preparation," the president said, adding that Beirut is a suitable site for the conference as the city boasts various cultures and different civilizations in its history.

"Beirut's characterization makes it a headspring of humanity and contacting when the world is seeing the trend of globalization," he claimed.

The Francophone organization, which is headed by former UN Secretary-General Butros-Butros Ghali, groups around 400 million people in 49 countries, half of whom speak French.

The first Francophone summit was held in 1986 in Paris under the patronage of then French President Francois Mitterrand.
