Bodies of All 16 Passengers, Crew of An-28 Plane Found

Rescuers on Friday found the bodies of all the 16 passengers and crewmembers on board of the Russian An-28 plane that crashed Thursday, Interfax reported.

Rescuers on Friday found the bodies of all the 16 passengers and crewmembers on board of the Russian An-28 plane that crashed Thursday, Interfax reported.

Among the passengers were two children aged eight and 11, and a Japanese national, a Russian Emergencies Ministry source was quoted as saying.

The aircraft crashed Thursday near its destination, Ayan airfield, in the far-eastern Khabarovsk region, just 12 minutes before its scheduled landing.

The jet was en route from Khabarovsk to Ayan village, located on the shores of the Okhotsk Sea, 830 kilometers north of the city of Khabarovsk.
