South Korea Eyes 83 Golds at Upcoming Asiad

The host South Korea will strive for 83 gold medals and the second place of final medal standings at the upcoming 14th Asian Games, which slated for September 29 - October 14 in Busan, according to the newly formed South Korean delegation.

The host South Korea will strive for 83 gold medals and the second place of final medal standings at the upcoming 14th Asian Games, which slated for September 29 - October 14 in Busan, according to the newly formed South Korean delegation.

South Korea had a 1010-strong delegation which consists of 772 athletes and 238 officials to take part in the all 38 sports but kabadi.

South Korea was reported not to fight with the traditional powerhouse China for the top position in Asian sports.

Sending 988-strong delegation to Busan, Japan poses the biggest threat to the host for the second place in the upcoming Asiad, according to the local reports on Friday.

South Korea finished second with 65 golds at the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok, following China with 129 golds. Japan stood thethird with 52.
