Nomination Papers of Sharif's Wife Rejected in Pakistan

The nomination papers of Kulsoon Nawaz, wife of Pakistan's former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, were rejected on Sunday by a returning officer in Punjab province, according to the local press.

The nomination papers of Kulsoon Nawaz, wife of Pakistan's former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, were rejected on Sunday by a returning officer in Punjab province, according to the local press.

The returning officer gave the objection that Kulsoon had given no authorization to her lawyer.

Kulsoon filed her nomination papers the other day to contest a seat in the National Assembly in the general elections to be held on October 10.

Meanwhile former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif has decided to withdraw his nomination papers filed for the forthcoming general elections in protest of the rejection of nomination papers of Benazir Bhutto,Chairperson of the Pakistan People's Party.
