2002 Dalian International Automobile Expo Fruitful

An international automobile exposition, which ended last week in northeast China's port city of Dalian, chalked up 763 million yuan (about 91.93 million US dollars) in sales of both domestic and imported cars.

An international automobile exposition, which ended last week in northeast China's port city of Dalian, chalked up 763 million yuan (about 91.93 million US dollars) in sales of both domestic and imported cars.

Organizers said 1,632 automobiles were sold at the five-day expo, the seventh of its kind, up 15 percent from the previous one.Spare car parts also made up a share of the fair's sales.

Of the automobiles sold by 226 businessmen, 822 were China-made, while the remaining 810 were imported, said the organizers.

The expo, in Liaoning province, attracted 205,000 visitors to its displays of 77 car types in 41 models.

The expo was co-sponsored by five organizations, including the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the government of Dalian city.
